Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul Railroad Bridge. The Black Bridge spans the Des Moines River and was located west of Jackson, Minnesota. The bridge was built in 1900 to replace the original wood bridge.

Consolidated school buses pictured in in front of the Okabena school house. The buses featured a coal stove for warmth in winter and windows to cool in summer. Each bus had the capacity of 12-18 students. Horse-drawn buses ran until about 1930 when they were replace by motorized buses.

King and J. L. King and are believed to be correct. The rider in front of the caisson is M. L. Ashley. Dann's Island is located in the city of Jackson. Cut off oxbow lake.
Interior view of the Herman Egge's Blacksmith Shop after he remodeled. Local at the corner of 1st. and Ashley. Herman bought the shop from Jens Jensen in 1913. Herman operated the shop for 53 years. The building was torn down in 1977. Pictured are Joe Vick (left) and Herman Egge (right).
