The 1973 date book featured scenes from three major storms that hit Duluth, Minnesota in the summer of 1972. The storms of August 16, August 20 and September 20, 1972, left millions of dollars in damage. The images include flooded streets and businesses, washed out streets, and Duluth residents working to mitigate the storms' effects.

Central Hillside; Weather Bureau building was built in 1904 and served until February 1950; the address has changed though the building was not moved 631 W Seventh Street; 631 Skyline Parkway; the address from March 1950 to October 1959 was 705 West Ninth Street

This West Duluth Street view at Central Avenue and Bristol street shows the building where the Purity Store operated as well as other business signs. It is an example of Romanesque architecture. The view includes men, boys, children, a truck, snow. It is a winter view of the business district. The building was constructed in 1889, and it was razed in 1976. Note the fire escape.
