              a bill for j0 act declaring the policy op the state with respsgt to the taxation op t aconite and semi-taconite and facilities for the mining and bsnepiciation thereof be it enacted by the legislature of the state of minnesota : section 1 any person or corporation engaged in the mining production or beneficiation of taconlte or semi-taconite in the state of minnesota shall hereafter continue to be taxed in the manner provided by laws in effect on january 1 1963 , and the amount of taxes hereafter imposed upon any such person or corporation shall not be increased so as to exceed the amount which would be payable if such taxes were computed under such laws in existence on january 1 1963 unless the taxes imposed on manufacturing corporations by laws in effect on january 1 1963 are increased if taxes imposed on manufacturing corporations under laws in effect on january 1 1963 are thereafter increased by an amendment to such laws then the taxes imposed upon any person or corporation engaged in the mining production or beneficiation of t aconite or semi-taconite may be increased in the same proportion as taxes ha\~3 bean so increased upon manufac turing corporations sec 2 no new tax surtax or additional tax shall hereafter be imposed upon any person or corporation engaged in the mining production or beneficiation of taconite or semi-taconite unless such new tax surtax or additional tax shall have the effect of similarly increasing taxes payable by manufacturing corporations see 3 for the purpose of this act rttaconitefl and semi taconite ff shall have the meaning given to them by laws in existence at the time of the adoption of this act
