Five representatives of the beauty that abounds within the Highway Department were among the
contestants for the title of "Miss
State Employee" at the recent
fifth annual picnic of State Employes, Inc.
From 1094, the Central Office
and Traffic and Safety, these girls
made the long trek out to Excelsior
riding on the tops of open convertibles. Then came the long hikes
across a stage before a group of
impartial judges who had but one

On Angust 23, the gates will
open at the Minnesota State

which will run through Labor
Day, Sept. 1. One of the
oldest continuing institutions

Johnston, Director of Public Information, Earl Larimer, Chief of
Highway Patrol, and J. E. P.
Darrell, Traffic Engineer.
Here's What You'll See

driver? You'll have a chance to
check yourself at the fair with a
multi-purpose driver-testing device
which is being featured in the
Highway exhibit. It's the Aetna
Roadometer, designed to subject
your driving technique to a thorough operational test in simulated
highway emergencies.
The Roadometer will have the
central spot of the three panels on
the north wall.
