BRIDGE TIMBER
TO BE HAULED
Last week Perc Donnelly
constructed the sleighs to
be used in hauling out the
pulpTtood, which had been
Salvaged from the Jackpine
thinning experiment held
last fall, and the bridge
timbers to be used in replacing those in the
bridges on the Ely-Buyck
Bead. Either the Cletrac,
which is being overhauled,
er the R-5 tractor will be
used t« haul the sleighs
•ver the winter road, yet
to be cut, to the Echo
Trail; later on this
timber will be distributed
and piled near the bridges
where the work is to be
done.
HOEFER BACK FROM
PROLONGED LEAVE
Bob Hoefer,711 Hospital
orderly, has returned
this week from station
hospital where he has been
convalescing from an appendectomy undergone while
he was on leave.
We all wish Robert a
happier and more economical leave in, shall we say
about 6 months hence(?).

The days lengthen; so,
Tony "Double-Man" Mrozik
served summons on his
crew to report one hour
earlier for work, beginning Monday morning. The
midnight lanterns must
be used, he says.
MELVIN- REED GETS
BAD CASH IN LEG
In a freakish accident
Monday morning,Melvin Reed
a member of the pruning &
thinning crew gashed the
calf of his leg te the extent that six stitches had
to be taken. He will be in
the hospital the greater
portion of this week, but
it ia expected that he will
be able to report for work
some time next week.
LEATHER CLASS
Another shipment has
arrived for the class in
Leathercraft, and the members are again busy fashioning wallets, belts,camera cases, picture frames,
and other useful articles.
DINNER DANCE HELD
AT FOREST HOTEL

Forest Hotel at Ely, on

M., to which all Forest
Service Personnel and Army
Officials stationed within the territory covered

FOR MOVIES
A new movie schedule
has been arranged for 711
due to the changes necessitated at other camps.
Beginning this week we
will have shows every Saturday evening instead of
on Tuesday evenings.
Because of the revised
schedule we have two shows
this week. Saturday's run
will be ,rThe King and the
Chcrus Girl.,r

CAPTAIN STARRET
NSPECTS CAMP
Captain Starret was in
camp today on a tour of
inspection. This marks the
Captain's first inspection
trip to 711. He seemed to
be quite pleased with the
condition of camp.
