Monday, the fellowing

Gunderson, and N. Ramsted,
(cook) went to side-camp
at Sioux Cabin where they
will stay while finishing
the Loon Lake Survey which
was begun by a crew sent
out two weeks ago. The twe
crews will work alternately in (shifts) of two
weeks each.

HOWARD MEETS
WITH ACCIDENT
While pruning trees
along the telephone line,
between Big Lake and Sec-
end Lake, Phil Howard met
with a lost-time accident,
while he was gathering a
batch of firewood to cook
dinner tn. The belt axe
which he was using acci-
dently glanced off a log
and bit int» his leg. Phil
spent five days in the hospital as a result, and the
twe-week no-l»st-time accident which we had was a-
gain shattered. The last
lost-time accident which
we had »ccurred a few short
weeks ago when Melvin Reed
severely cut himself while
he was working on the thinning project.
The best previous no-
lost-time record was 204
days, made between last
April and November.

DRY ING-ROOMS
BEING FIXED UP
As a part of the general improvement program,
which has continually been
an activity of 711, several of the barracks are
at work completing the
drying-room projects that
were started right after
the first of the year.The
two barracks that only
recently moved their drying rooms to the centers
of the barracks, five and
six, have been occupied a
good part of the last wee
k-l/lining the walls »f
said dry-ing rooms with
some new plywood,recently
obtained. Barracks seven
is one of the other outfits occupied with the
same type rf work.

Plans are now being
made for the purchase and .
installation of a public
address system in this
camp as soon as the necessary funds are available.
Bids have been secured
from local dealers for the
necessary equipment.
Plans are to install
a loud speaker in each building in canp and a large
outside speaker on the
roof of the Headquarters
building.
A micirophone and the
necessary electric mechanism will be placed in the
private office of the Commanding Officeer. It is
planned to build a wooden
cabinet in which the electrical mechanism will be
placed together with a phonograph turntable. Phonograph records will also be
stored in this cabinet.
It is also planned to
secure phonograph records
of the various bugle calls
which might be used. These
calls will be broadcast
over the system in place
of the siren calls now
used. The siren would then
be used only in case of
fire or fire drills. Music
suitable for use in conducting retreat ceremony
will also be broadcast
over the system.
Sufficient wire is now
on hand for making the var-
