NEW SUBALTERN
FROM MINNEAPOLIS
Captain W. C. Entzminger, our
new Subaltern, is a resident of
Minneapolis. Mr. Entzminger, a
Captain of the Reserves, was formerly in the sales and advertising business. Captain Entzminger,
upon being interviewed, made the
following statement: "I think I
will enjoy this duty. I enjoy working with boys. If they do their
duty, I'm an easy fellow to get
along with." Captain Entzingmin-
ger has two boys of his own back
in Minneapolis.
Christmas Party Held
On Thursday, December 19, a
combination Christmas party and
farewell for the departing members of the company was held
rfte;- a very esjoyahle musical
program, the award'.s were presented to truck drivers Melvin Peterson, Earnest Salo, and Oliver
Juntunen in recognition of their
having driven 10,000 miles without an accident. Awards for class
attendance were presented to
"Mouse" Erickson and Paul Briggs.
A beautiful arrangement of an
old Christmas favorite, "Silent
Night," was rendered by Mr. Richards daughter, Mary Lalene. A trio
"O Holy Night" was executed
beautifully by Mrs. Richards, Mrs.
Johnson and Mrs. Shae. Also on
the program was a trumpet solo
by Charles Tesar, entitled 'Sparks'.
The Christmas dinner was delicious, and enrollees were given
menu cards to send home as souvenirs. These cards contained a
roster of the entire company, and
personnel.
TWENTY ARKANSAS BOYS
ARRIVE AT 3707
On January 14, 20 boys from Arkansas arrived in 3707 to br°.ve
the wintery blasts. As we go to
press, these enrollees arrive, which
brings our Company Strength to
192 Although we doubt whether
they will like this cold climate,
we hope their stay a 3707 is aih
enjoyable one. Lots of luck, boys.
$13.50 Collected by
Company for Christmas
Seals
Company 3707 did its little bit
to help in the fight against tuberculosis, by contributing S13.50
to this cause last payday. The
amount would have been much
more, but the majority of the boys
were home on leaves, leaving only
a few to carry on the fight.
FORESTRY NEWS
Work has begun on the fills on
TT560 East. The power shovel op-
-i-ated by Harry Johnson, has been
transferred here along with seven
Dodge dump trucks. It is expected
that the shovel and dump trucks
will be out on road work until
ibout March 15th. Foreman Cameron and Kauppi along with Op
erator Johnson are supervising the
road work.
Rondent control (rabbit snaring)
started January 3rd. Four enrollees under the supervision of Foreman Ralph Graves are daily covering plantations and areas adjacent
to camp. After one week of snaring, a total of 60 rabbits were
snared and about 700 snares had
been set out. It is expected that
the winter's catch will be quite
large.
Foreman Hauke has a crew of
men at Mt. Weber getting out
cabin logs for the proposed Mt.
Weber Tower Cabin.

THIRTY NINE NEW MEN FROM
MONTIVIDIO ENROLL IN CO. 3707
Auditorium Completed
One year ago, the beginnings of
an auditorium were started in Co.
3707. In the past year, it has been
gradually completed, until now,
the beginning of another year, it
has practically reached completion. The company should be proud
of its fine auditorium, for there
are few camps in Minnesota that
■ire fortunate enough to enjoy an
accessory such as this. Let's try
o keep the fingerprints off the
walls, shall we, fellows?
FOUR COMPLETE
FIRST AID COURSE
Last month, four boys completed the standard First Aid Course,
became eligible for First Aid
cards and certificates. They are:
Oliver Juntunen, Gerald Schmid
Nordal Nelson and George Buerr.
Several others missed being able to
take the test by not having quite
3nough hours attendance. These
will be able to take the test the
next time Dr. Duncan gives it.
New Library Arrives
in Camp
The traveling library, 4E-25, has
been replaced by library 9E-25,
consisting of ninety books, old
and new, fiction and non-fiction.
Mysteries, westerns, historicals,
and modern novels are among the
new arrivals. Why not spend a
few profitable hours this month
with some good books.
Captain Anderson Inspects
The first inspection of the year
went over fairly well, when Captain Anderson ispected our camp,
and presented us with a rating of
85. There is still room for improvement, however, so let's try
our utmost to boost the coming-
ratings of the year!
The coming of a new year has
brought a new bunch of "rookies"
to Co. 3707. This healthy, rugged
group of boys hail from Montevideo, Minnesota, and surrounding
territory. They are the largest
amount of fellows that have comi
into our fair midst since July 10,
1940. These new enrollees appear
fairly intelligent, so we will expect several Army Clerks, Forestry Clerks, Assistant Educational
Vdvisers, Senior Leaders, etc., to
develop from their midst.
Following is a list of the new
comers:
LaVerne B. Agre
Roy E. Berg
Laurence J. Brown
LaVerne S. Burger
James V. Butier
Edward A. Cady
Donald E. Ciiizek
Vernon H. Devine
Alfred J. Erickson
Wyllis H. Fox
James M. Gunderson
Jack W. Haas
James H. Hansen
Virgil E. Hanson
Gerald M. Hegna
Arnold N. Holt
Sylvester A. Hubert

Mess Hall Receives
New Inferior
The Mess Hall is undergoing
several improvements. Sg. Herold
reports that there will be a new
ceiling, such as that in the auditorium. The floor is to be highly
Hnished, and covered with a wax
finish. There will also be rubber
mats covering the spots that are
most walked on. All in all, the
Mess Hall should be a much more
pleasant place- in which to eat.
Laundry Building Under
Construction
The Laundry building, which has
been under construction for quite
some time is rapidly nearing completion.
