CCC APPLICANTS ARRIVE
As part of the January enrollment for
tho Minnesota District of the Civilian
Conservation Corps, 140 applici nts from
tho state of Kansas arrived at Fort
Snelling late Friday night,"  They v/ere
given their first taste of "Army chow"
upon their arrival.
The processing was done at the National Guard Stables warehouse ,.nd after
the medical examination and the issue
cf clothing', the enrollees were divided
into four groups and sent to Companies
1760, 1761, 1762 and 1765.  There were
cniy four rejects from the Corps.
Enrollment of new men from Minnesota .
Was done at Army Rccuiting offices in
various cities of the state.  The applicants whr were accepted were sent directly tc camps under quota in the district,

Cur own Company orchestra will furnish music and several special numbers
have been planned by the boys.  Also, o. ■

that she will put on an act.  It v/as also!
announced that there would be some very :
good refreshments served. •
The Chapel Choir is engaged in the
preparation of am operetta, entitled "Miss;
Cherry Blossom" v/hich will be presented i
some time in February. This is o. piece :
*f work v/ith a colorful and pleasing ;
musical oxtravagaiwa. ■
It is hoped that all those who enjoy \
singing and acting will take an active
part. . \
CCC C.'MpP.S play TCNIGHT
Tonight the Company basketball team
;makes its debut in the Jefferson Junior
High school gymnasium in Minneapolis^at
7 o'clock.  Their opponents will be the
"Macabocs", from that city, and both
teams are in the Northern Division of the
Senior Park Board League.
Manager Wilson Carney has stated that
all v/hp wish to go will have the opportunity as he will have enough trucks tc take them to the game.  There will bo scat-
capacity for about 75 spectators.
There is no admission charg .
So far this season the to; m has shown
remarkable ability i nd in this .league it
should really open up with some nice
ploys. ' All the players are set to go,
Mr. Carney also added, o.nd tho game tonight should be a test and a hint of
4; to expect.
For thoso v/ho huvo not seen tho team
in action, this is an oxcell nt chance to
sco them play, and besides it will be a
good awning's entertainment.
. SUPPLY CLERK KEPT BUSY
The Company Supply Clerk, -Ralph Jonos,
has been very busy "those last several days;
having in addition to tho regular work,
tho job of'going about and stenciling all
the.issued belongings of ovory man in the
company.  The stenciling included all the
clothing issued except socks o.nd underwear1
and all of the bed clothing, shoos and
such.
So far about one half the job has been
completed.
Slowly but surely the now wall lockers
arc b'eing made . nd distributed in the
platoons beginning in numerical order.
So far, the new lockers, being built
for two men, have met v/ith approval .
