Attitude Taken Toward
The road near the work project to
which 'Shorty' Baer transports the members of the crew, is in bad shape, due
to the recent rain storms. There is a
treacherous mud hole a short distance
fron the work project. 'Then 'Shorty'
was taking the lunches out to the boys,
he discovered an automobile, operated
by a woman, in the center of the mud
hole. It seemed that the mud offered
too much res^ stance for the power of
the vehicle to overcome, and as a re-
sult it became stranded.
' Shorty' immediately walltod over
to the site of the affair and offered
a' helping hand. Thc woman gratefully
accepted 'Shorty's' kind offer (Shorty
isn't very far above the ground, but
all of him Is generosity.) 'Shorty'
then proceeded to climb into'the automobile, and after a. few attempts to
dislodge it from its. place in the mud,
he found them to be in vain. He immediately concluded that another means
of attack would be necessary. He then
departed into the -oods, and after being gone for approximately five minutes
he came dashing back tc tho scene in a.
rather exhausted state of being, with a
couple of arms full of brush. Aft.r
spreading the brush under the wheels of
the car, he got into it and his first
attempt proved successful, as ho camo
'lumbering' out of the hole at a terrific speed. Aft a: ho had the vehicle
safely out of thc mad hole he presented
it to its grateful o-ner. - l.J.K. -
