Speaking Contest ...
Wilbert ' Hoff 's oration on 'The
Irish Disturbance ..Bill, ' by Daniel O'Connell, won the prize of' a carton of
fligarettes which..v.as offered. The winner was determined on his ability to
hold, the attention, of the. a.udience by
a forceful mannor of giving his, selec-,
tion. Hoff's ability proved to rate
'tops' (and was therefore granted first
prize by all contestants."
Darrell Johnson, Paul-Daeklin,-
and Neil Stone also did•'splendidly
with their orations.
New Truck For Forestry
The Forestry'Department received
a new.long wheelbase, 1935 model truck
Tuesday. This truck will be ready for
use in the near future,with Wally Fin-
strom as operator.
'Scrap-Iron' Armstrong KO's Burke in 2nd
Armstrong, darkhorse of the company boxing circle, took advantage of
an overheard rumor of Burke having, a
'glass chin', and laced a terrific
left to that spot, to 'canvas' Burke
in the 2nd round of their encounter.
Father Normyle Gives Lecture
Father Normyle, Sub-District Chaplin,, addressed ' the boys' of this company last Thursday evening'.' 'The topic
otf his speech was' 'The Wonderful Opportunity The Boys Of The CCC Have',
That Abraham Lincoln Didn't Have.'
i He also revealed his elation over
being able to serve" as- Chaplih in- the
U.S. Army and the CCC. He closed his
speech with a warning lo stay clear of
Agitatnrs, Reds or Communists that we

New Repair Shop Under Construction

ted under the supervision of the .civil
ian carpenter, George Norman, and his
aids, a throng of the more carpentry
inclined men of this organization.
Thus far, they have completed
the skeleton of the structure.
Two Enrollees Discharged
Enrollees Floyd Erickson*and Donald Corbin were discharged from the
company on Thursday last.
