As  Hollywood, I'm glad  with Frances Benn and her young husband""  they have not seen much of the superheat  there was a sound display of Celebs for  hem: Lilian and Dorothy Gish, Zoe Aikens (spelling?), Anita  Loos, William Faulkner, Franz and Mrs. Werfel.  She is, if course, monkeying-around: housekeeping and working  in a bookshop, which are sound, but also trying to direct  at a dim 111 theater at Westwood, and taking a couple of useless courses at UCLA, and not doing any writing; while he is  finishing his work for a B.A. at UCLA. Yet I liked them  both, and very much;, they seemed sound and sweet and fresh,  out here, and I think everything will go well with both of  them. If he is possibly a little weak, he is also fond of  her  the  Can't be  and eager.  (Now you don't need to say:  L is always trying to keep me  a bit subtler?)  sort  Mr.  you  ""I  seel Just  from marrying,  tt  Jack Wildberg is supposed to have darted off to New York  and again returned here. The story about, and it might be  possible,, is that he went just'|to be on the train with Louis  B. Mayer — and probably thus be able to get LB's recipe for  watermelon pickle — my, my,, I bet it was a surprise for Mr.  LB —m I can hear him saying, ""Well, well, what a surprise,  and whom the-hell may you be,,Mr. Louis B. Wildberg?""  The other story about him is that he is already being divorced by the movie-critic-gal wife he married -- last  winter, was it? — and that she was willing, to live with him  only a few daysr.  And that might be, G-OD THAT MIGHT BE true,  too.  Our Jack shd be more careful whom or who he asks about  watermelon pickle recipes.  Spence Tracy reports to me, on the lot, as we call it in  Ultima Thule, that he was as jabbed to the gall bladder by  ^     Tallilah as^I was.....1 noticed one thing that did surprise  liK-«-   me.
