xhe -"orthfield ^rts ^uild "oard of directors met on January II4, 1961+
at 7S30 p*m* at the Center for a regular business meeting. Members
present were* dunlop, Schjeldahl, Starks, Woodruff, Lee, Wing,
Follansbee, Wioors, and Basquin. (Halvorsen-later)
The secretary called the meeting to order due to the fact that the
president, Dr. nalvorsen, had to be late and the vice-president was
absent.
The minutes were read and approved as read.
The treasurers Mr. M0ors stated that the balance on hand was fl,135»92«
Mr, M0ors said all bills had been paid with the exception of the insurance and interest due on the building. The report was accepted
as read.
Mrs. Lee asked Mr. Moors if Mrs. Hunter had submitted any bills
from the Good Design show wh ich had been held in December. Mo
bills had been submitted. It was also reported no bill had been
submitted as yet on the refreshments served at the Christmas program,
Mrs. Basquin reported that a turnout of about 110 children had
seen the first of the film series. Monies in the amount of $130*
had been collected to date and that therefore we were assured of
paying all expenses.
Due to the fact that the lower room of the Center was cold, Mrs,
Follansbee volunteered to have the next board meeting at her home.
Members agreed on this matter,
Mr. Moors asked for motion to pay the $155- insurance bills*
Mrs. Woodruff so moved and Bill Dunlop seconded. The motion carried.
Mrs. Basquin reported that lacking sufficient number of persons at
the first date of Dale Haworth lecture series, the lectures would
not actually begin until Jan. 27 and that the original date had
been held open just for registration purposes.
Someone asked about the old piano and the members were informed
that by agreement mth Dr. Halvorsen and Mrs. Basquin, Mr. Loesch
had removed it.
Mrs. Woodruff reported the second session of classes for ballet
had started on January h» Twelve studecj^s are enrolled. Tuition
fees are |2j|_t*__p0. She submitted her bill for I5O. instructor's
fee. The students were 7 to 8 year old pre-ballet and modern
dance students. A second class had only a registration of five
and would be dropped if enrollment did not make the minimum of ten.
Mrs. Follansbee moved and %s. Lee seconded the motion that
Mrs. Woodruff be paid the I5O, with the same restriction as outlined
in minutes of November 13, 1963* Motion passed.
