LAMBERTON COMMERCIAL CLUB

Dr. 0. Meredith Wilson, President
University of Minnesota
Dear Dr. WiIson:
The committee representing the Lamberton Commercial Club and all the
citizens of the community would like to take this means of re-emphasizing
and adding to the material presented to the sub-committee of the Site
Selection Committee for the southwestern college.
Lamberton is located very near the center of the area to be served. The
figures prepared by your committee would indicate that Lamberton1s location
would provide an equal opportunity to the potential college students of this
area to commute or to live on campus. We have three hard surfaced highways
with which we can serve the entire nineteen counties.
The 160--200 acres of land that would be donated joins the city on the east.
This land is high and level with a gentle fall in four directions from the
center. This area is bounded by a hard surface road on the south with the
potential of five to six streets extended into the area plus an entrance to
State Highway ]k.
3. WATER, SEWER & ELECTRICITY
Our present disposal plant was constructed to serve a city of 5,000 with
area to expand. It is located approximately one quarter of a mile from
the college site area with a 20 to 30 foot fall from this area but is not
in view from the site.
Water is plentiful. Our supply comes from two wells that are operated on
a one well standby basis.
Our supply of electricity is more than ample as we are connected with four
