Students Enjoy
Swim Party
Swimming—ah yes—that was
the gay sport a hilarious group of
students indulged in on Friday,
April 25. Everyone dived into the
cool pool and enjoyed an evening
of frolicking in the water.
What have we over here in this
corner of the gym? One club—
two spades—pass—pass! Ah—
the card sharks are at it again with
a few rounds of bridge. Time out
for a cup of coffee and a piece of
cake.
My attention was soon attracted to a strenuous invigorating
game being played on the gym
floor. The athletic types are batting the ball over the net in a wild
game of volleyball.
Swish swish!    There goes the
birdie sailing through the air. Ah
yes—a badminton doubles is in
ptogress. Tryirjg to watch the
birdie will give me a stiff neck so
how about another piece of that
delicious cake.
You should have been there—
everyone else was. We all trudged home tired from a strenuous
evening, but happy and content
after spending an enjoyable time
provided for us by the social committee. Dot Dickson was the main
instigator behind the party. Betty
Cornwell and Frankie Markell
were on the food committee and
Collette Lyon took care of the
bridge.

the Spring Formal! Here is the
inside dope to date. Co-chairmen
Nancy and Martha Anderson have
done a wonderful job, and here
are the results:

ANNUAL BANQUET
PLANS MADE
You've all probably heard vague
smatterings of information about
the Rochester Junior College annual banquet, but there are probably very few of you who know
exactly what it's all about. Here
are some of the details—just to
brush you up a bit on school affairs.
The banquet is to be held
Thursday, the evening of May 22
at 6:30 in the high school cafeteria. All Junior College students,
faculty members, and veterans'
wives are cordially invited. There
will be no charge for students, but
faculty members and veterans'
wives will be asked to pay for
their meals.
The after dinner program will
be high-lighted by an introductory
speech by Dean Goddard, the
presentation  of  the  two  Golden

MELODRAMA SET
FOR 8:15 TONIGHT
Lady Isabel Vane, one of the
most persecuted heroines in all dramatic history, will make her appearance at Central building,
Thursday   evening,    May    8,    at
15. This role has been made
famous in repertory and stock
companiies by such actresses as
Clara Morris, Marjorie Rambeau
and Laurette Taylor. Playing
with Aline Jennings, the Rajester
Isabel, will be James Williams as
the hero and Johnmiles Johnson as
the dastardly villain. Several humorous scenes occur in the old
melodrama, but it ends on a note
of sweet and beautiful sadness.
The publicity committee for
East Lynne is as follows: Robert
Bahr, chairman; Joseph Daly,
Robert Weiberg, Loren Marquardt,
and Harry Drosos.
The poster committee is headed by Ralph Books, who is being
assisted by Frankie Markell, Gloria
Obst, and Robert W. Kruger.
The photographer for the Ra-
jesters is James Schneider.
The scene designer is Rolland
Peterson, who will paint some
elaborate Victorian settings for the
production. Mr. Peterson's oil
paintings were much admired when
they were on display at Holland's
Food Shop some weeks ago.
Picnic To Be
Staged at
Whitewater
The   joint   Phi-Theta Gamma-Rho picnic is going to be held
Friday,    May    9 provided    it
doesn't rain. Whitewater was
the location chosen for the affair,
and transportation to and from is
to be furnished by individual
members. Food—including potato salad, wieners, buns, pop, and
ice cream will be served for a nominal fee per person. Incidentally,
all Rajesters are cordially invited.
The picnic promises to be a gala
affair, so, members, don your hiking togs and come along.
