Edwards Elected
At an election held on February
21, members of the Secretarial
Club chose the freshman officers
who took over the duties of the
club at the beginning of the spring
quarter. Janet Edwards replaces
Irene Krueger as president, and
Edith de Groot takes over Mary
Hanson's post as vice-president. A
run-off election with Marilyn Holtorf and Delores Stoltenberg as
candidates was necessary to determine the secretary-treasurer. As
a result of this election, Marilyn
takes over Gerry Kennedy's job
of handling the club's finances.
Beauty Reigns at
Winter Homecoming
The mock winter homecoming
festivities were held Saturday,
February 24, at the armory with
three major events taking place,
Providing a laugh for everyone, a
girls' basketball game started the
evening off, with the Freshman
and Sophomore teams competing.
Freshmen were Barb Brown, Phyllis Nelson, Janet Silker, Delores
Stoltenberg, and Doris Elford.
Sophomores were Ann Christensen, Marnea Harding, Delores
Predmore, Correne Gronvold, and
Nancy Bumgarner. Mr. Dubbert
and Miss Jack Wenstrup were the
refs, with Miss Wenstrup performing in her usual inimitable way.
After the game, which climaxed
when the refs were exhausted, the
crowning of the queen took place.
Ed Bigelow radiated beauty as he
gracefully sauntered onto the
floor carrying a cunning plunger
and smoking an exotic looking
pipe. Bob O'Neill was odorned
in a beautiful green job which
just matched his darting Irish eyes,
and received a big round of applause. Dick Husband, the other
attendant, also captured the eyes
of all those present as he swung
along the floor. Kenneth Francis,
