On Thursday, February 26,
twenty-five students were elected

the basis of consistent outstanding work on the Jaysee Echo or
the Rajuco or both.
The day started; out with the
initiates appearing in our "Ivy

were painted with the Greek letters "Gamma" and "Rho." At
five o'clock the new Gamma Rhos

most interesting news story. The
assignments included: dragging a
dog leash down the streets—with
no dog, asking people why they
were happy," exchanging an old
worn out tooth brush for a new
one, counting all the marble slabs
on the diagnostic building, interviewing jail prisoners, and visiting
the city dump.
Upon completing the assignments the reporters drove to the
Markay Dining Room where prime
beef roast dinners were served.
Dean Roy W. Goddard opened
the initiation with a brief talk.
Then Jacob Guenther, a sixteen-
year-old exchange student from
Germany/ spoke on his Berlin experiences, and his impression of
fhe American school system. Later in the evening the cub reporters read the stories of their adventurous assignments.
The candlelight ceremony followed at which the constitution
was read by secretary Edith de
Groot. The inspiring evening
ended with each of the new initiates giving the pledge. Alice
Dodge, president of the journalistic society, and this year's Rajuco editor, acter as master of
