IRC Reviews
Events of 1955
On January 30 from 10:20-
11:20, preceding the Snow Queen
Coronation, the IRC presented
Monitor. This IRC program depicted various highlights and
sidelights of 1955 through the
medium of radio, audio, and
Monitor.
The various scenes included: an
"Eye Witness" launching of the
Nautilus, a lively and heated
Foreign Policy Discussion, and the
atmosphere that prevailed at the
"Geneva Spirit." Last year's
Snow-Queen Coronation was recalled and its details such as the
date, February 7th, and our
beautiful and regal 1955 Queen
Carol Orpen. Such serious news
items as President Dwight D.
Eisenhower's heart attack of September 24, 1955, merited reverence and a silent prayer for his
speedy recovery. Not all was
as serious as Ike's heart attack.
Bob and Ray were there to make
like comedians in the laugh and
chuckle department. Bob and
Ray were again seen and heard
at the Gourmet Club opening the
"Sandwich of the Evening." The
sexy and appealing tones of Miss
Monitor were heard by all. The
temperatures in all the "cool"
and "torrid" locations were given.
Music for Monitor was furnished by Tom Barton, Mr. Karl Dubbert, and Karl's KRAZY KREW
was on record. The chief male
announcer was Roger Nelson, and
the, chief female announcer was
Pat Hamilton. Members of the
International Relations Club were
members of the cast and stage
crew. The faculty advisor was

Sno-Dance
Ends Week
Tonight is the climax of a week
of fun and frolic which has been
enjoyed by RJC'ers. The Sno-
Dance, which is one of the biggest events of the year, will be
held at the Pla-Mor Ballroom this
evening. Johnny Roberts and his
band will furnish the music and
dancing will be from 9 to 1.
Queen Joyce Rupkalvis and her
attendants will reign over the
event. Beautiful formals and
happy couples dancing in an atmosphere of winter at its best,
graced by the presence of her
majesty the queen, will be the
highlights of the evening. In
keeping with the theme "Dance,
Mr. Snowman," you will probably
see lovable snowmen and other
winter scenes which will make you
feel as though you are dancing
in a dreamy snowman's world.
During the evening there will
be a program presented for your
enjoyment which will spotlight the
queen and her attendants. The
program will be sparked by a
chorus line of song and dance
girls, made up of some of JC's
most lovely debs. After this fine
entertainment there is a stunt
planned which will surprise a
couple of unsuspecting guests
much to the delight of the others
attending. Master of ceremonies
for the program will be Roger
Nelson.
Members of the Winter Social
Committee who are planning the
dance are Bob Zeller and Francis Hunter, co-chairmen, Marilyn
Cooper, Kathleen Beckley, Margo
Fick, Chuck Hanson, Jim Weiberg,
Mary Fogarty. Head of the program planning is Chuck Hanson
with Marilyn Cooper, Patsy Hamilton, Tom Barton, and Marilyn
Kleist as his assistants. Jim Weiberg is in charge of decorations
and Mary Fogarty is handling the
refreshments. Chaperones for the
evening will be Mr. and Mrs.
Kortz, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul.
Invitations have been extended to
all faculty members.
P. S.—Be sure to get your Sno-
Man tags which have been put
