Resigns From Staff
Many Junior College students
ecently became aware that one
if our best-known and bestlov-
instructors is resigning from
lie teaching staff of the Roches-
Junior College, June 1 of this
ear. She is moving to Ashe-
ille, N. C, with her sister and'

eld of adult education.
Miss Flora McGhee was born
Caldwell, a small town in Ohio,
everal years ago—she won't say
low many. She went to a prep-
sratory school at Ohio Univer-
ty, where she says she really
rf\i earned to study. There were
* nany students there who were
ons and daughters of wealthy
well-known people, and whose
iarents expected them to get

She swam, as proved by the
iegrees she has attained. Her
irst was a Bachelor of Science
!egree in education, from Ohio
Iniversity, in 1921. Then follow-
d a Master of Arts from the
School of Philosophy of Colum-
ia University, New York, 1925,
md graduate study at the Amer-
ccn Academy of Dramatic Arts,
it a seminar in terminal educa-
ion at Harvard University, at a
ummer session at the Breadloaf
ichool of English, and what she
ails a "peak" into London Uni-
'ersity School of Speech. This

eacher and dramatics coach.
Miss McGhee began her feeding career in the English and
'ramatics department in Mariet-
o, Ohio, Senior High School,
921-1924. She then went on to

linister College in Texas, 1925-
927, and from there came to

ster, 1927.

Drama Groups
Name Initiates
Candidates for Rajesters and
for Delta Psi Omega—the national honorary dramatic fraternity
for junior colleges—will be initiated in an appropriate ceremony at the Markay private dining room on May 15.
Chairmen for Rajester assignments will be Diane Teigen and
James Vaughan. Other candidates will be Scotty Clark, Maxine Prokasky, Mary Schleicher,
Albin Sterner, Judean Benston,
Ann Maher and Audrey Kuhl.
The Delta Psi Omega degree
team will be composed of Marylyn Hovren, James Odland and
Roger Nelson, who are the fraternity members admitted last
year on their roles in "How to
Propose," and the all-college
play, "The White Sheep of the
Family."
Candidates for initiation to
Delta Psi Omega on May 15 will
be the following: Larry Collins,
Jayne Birsa, Marilyn Richey, Leif
Erickson and August Schleicher.
These students have played roles
in "A Little Something for Christmas" and "Income Tax," both
Ethel and Albert comedies; also

Banquet Planned
Phi Theta Kappa members
have been busy the past two
weeks planning for the initiation
of new members and the annual
banquet, which this year will be
field on May 2.
The candidates are: Wayne
Biiiings, Kay Fleischer, Roy Hoffman, David Heim, Judith Hren,
Mary Ingalls, Larry Johnson, Ga-
lina McLaws, Dale Parker, Kent
Penwarden, Augie Schleicher,
Malcolm Smith, Nancy Strifert,
Sue Vanberg, Karen Voxland,
Dick Tenley, Walton Witzke, Dick
Schock, Shirley Bandel, and Ellen Hansen.
Tentative plans are being
made for an informal get-together with incoming members.
. Those candidates who wish to
join the society should notify
Miss Barthelemy by April 26.
Psychology Class
Presents Program
The R. J. C. psychology class
presented a TV program Tuesday, April 9, at 4:30 P.M. The
first part of the program was
given over to Mr. Davis, who defined psychology, and then short
skits were given.
The first skit was about the
child attempting to get parental
attention and failing. It was
written by Steve Lambourne and
Neil Portermain with Steve and
his niece doing the acting honors. After the skit, Roger Ormand discussed the material given in the skit.
Skit number two was about the
indulgent parent, which was written by Karen Fischer and Diane
Bennett. Acting in this skit was
Marcia Peterson as the child'.
Diane Teigen discussed the material.
The third skit was about the
domineering parent, which Lucille Hameister and Roger Riege
wrote. In this production, Jane
Birsa was the mother and Marcia
Peterson was the daughter, with
Dave Johnson discussing the material that was given.

On Saturday, May 4, a grand
reunion of the Medical Secretarial classes for the years 1952
through 1956 will be held at
Michael's Supper Club. The class
of 1957 is also invited to the
event.
The reunion will include a social hour at 6:30 p.m., a dinner
served at 7 p.m., and' guest
speakers.
Medical Secretaries from all
five classes are helping Miss
Towle plan the event. Romayne
McKnight of the '56 class is mistress of ceremonies. Other mem-

Jane Birsa was the mother, Ronald Kath, the father, and Bob
Fenske, the teen-ager. Jim Winkels discussed what he had written.
At the conclusion of the program, there was a general discussion with a panel consisting
of Roger Ormand, Jean Jacob-
son, Bill Tervo, Diane Teigen,
Dave Johnson, and Jim Winkels,

Social Group Makes
Tentative Arrangements
The spring social committee
met as a group for the first time
last Tuesday in an informal meeting. Tentative plans for coming
social activities were discussed-,
and a schedule was set up.
The big events concerning the
committee ore the annual spring
picnic and the formal dance.
Plans are underway for securing
the Country Club for fhe spring
dance and the Sportsman's Olub
for the picnic. Along with these
two important events are swim
gyms. Any suggestions or volunteers from the student body or
faculty will be sincerely appreciated by the social committee.
Members of the committee to
see are Ron Kath and Jim Winkels, co-chairmen, or Rog Riege,
Augie Williams, Karen Paulson,
Edith Schmidt, Marilyn Richey,
and Scotty Clark.
It has also been decided' that
the Convocation Committee with
Diane Teigen, chairman, Leif
Erickson, Sharon Curtin, Jerry
Whipple, and Nancy Strifert will
work along with the social committee in presenting entertainment for the events planned by
the social committee.
