Disc-Jockey Shoiu
With the strains of Midnight March, the R. J. C. department of
:ch and dramatic arts, under the direction of Mr. Robert Wise,
igurated a new disc-jockey program, Teen Time, at KROC radio,
ember 25 at 4:30 p.m.
Every week-day evening at that hour a flip of the d'ial will bring
ce bits of news from the senior and junior high schools of Roch-
r and surrounding area schools, to say nothing of the liltin' music.
The dee-joy program  is completely managed  by six  able  dee-
from our concrete campus.    The schedule reads as follows:
Monday—Bill Gurness; Tuesday—Tony Love; Wednesday—Curt
in; Thursday—Bill Donovan; Friday—Scott (Dad) Frear; alternat-
-Hewitt Green.
The taste of each of these dee-joys runs from  progressive jazz
resley rock, insuring every type of music lover to be entertained
just the  right program.
Marilyn Richey is news editor of the program and Jayne Birsa
roducer. KROC lends the very able Larry Roberts as technical
sor for the program.
It is requested that any school with news items of coming events
in their tid-bits to: TEEN TIME, R. J. C, Rochester, Minnesota.
Junior College to Sponsor
Foreign Relations Meeting
Rochester Junior College will sponsor a conference on foreign
relations for educators of southeastern Minnesota on December 12.
The purpose of the conference is to introduce the foreign relations program of the North Central Association, a corporation of
secondary schools and colleges, to school administrators and social
studies teachers, and to discuss and exchange ideas in the teaching
of foreign relations. 	
The International Relations
Club will be in charge of registration and the coffee period
which wiH open the conference
on the afternoon of December
12.
Miss Mary Goette, chairman of
the social studies department
here, will welcome the visitors,
and  James  Becker  of  the  North

Mrs. Creal to
Teach in RHS
It has been officially okayed
by school officials for Mrs. Hazel
Creal, Junior College teacher,
Dean of Women and registrar, to
transfer to the high school. Mrs.
Creal will be replacing Miss Johnson, who has resigned from the
high school  business department.
Mrs. Creal will continue to
teach her classes, Economics 45,
46, and 47, during the eighth
hour for the rest of the year.
Arrangements are still being
made concerning her successor as
registrar and dean of women by
the beginning of the winter quarter.
Social Committee
Plans Activities
The Winter Social Committee
held an organizational meeting
Tuesday, November 19, in order
to discuss plans for the coming
quarter and for Sno-Week. Because of a conflict between the
social and basketball calendars,
the committee met with the Student Council for a while to discuss a possible date for Sno-
Week. The date has been moved to the week of January 31-
February 7, with the Sno-Dance
scheduled for Saturday, February 1, at the Rochester Golf and
Country Club.
The committee also discussed
mixers and parties for the winter
quarter. Any person having a
suggestion for Sno-Week or some
activity shou'ld please feel free
to give it to a member of the
committee. They are: Marilyn
Richey, chairman, and Vince Meyers, Phyllis Sorenson, Jack Prow,
Scott Frear, Carolyn Erickson,
Kent Penwarden, Pam Brown, and
Donna  Harms.
Senator Thye
Scheduled for
Convocation
The Convocation Committee has
arranged for the two U. S. Senators from Minnesota to speak
to the students between now and
Christmas. The first program was
set for November 18, at which
time Senator Hubert Humphrey
was to speak. However, the
snowstorm grounded all planes
and forced cancellation of that
convocation. Senator Humphrey
is now making plans to speak
at a later date.
Senator Thye, the other Minnesota senator, is expected to
speak at a convocation Monday,
December 9.
The subject of both speakers
will be current governmental affairs, probably including both
foreign and national affairs.
Chairman of the convocation
committee is Tom Seldon. Its
members are: Carolyn Erickson,
Richard Trautner, Ruth Reese, and
Leif   Erickson.
Open House
Held Nov. 16
About two hundred persons attended the annual JC open house
held Thursday, November 14, in
observance of Education Week.
Farents came from far and near
tc be shown around the college
and meet with the teachers. Refreshments were served.
