Charles Rucker, a sophomore in pre-business at JC, will be part
>f a tour in Europe especially for junior college students.
C The tour is under the, leadership of Dr. and Mrs. C. C. Colvert
if the University of Texas in Austin. Dr. Colvert is the past president
if the American Association of Junior Colleges and was the director
if research for that association from 1949 to 1955.
The trip, which was open to any JC student, and will last 36
lays, is being handled by the Holiday Travel House for the reason-
ible fee of $1189.00, which includes passport expenses, personal
xpenses, and transportation from the hometown to New York.

To Attend Workshop
Four faculty members are planning to attend the Second Workshop on General Education, sponsored by the State Advisory Committee on Teacher Education and
the Committee on Liberal Arts
Education of the North Central
Association. The meeting, at
which representatives from Minnesota colleges and junior colleges will be present, is to be
held January 31 and February 1
at Augsburg College in Minneapolis.

Who's Who List
Compiled for Year
The Student Council recently
made up the list for Who's Who
at JC for the 1958 Rajuco.
Names are submitted by council members and voted on by the
council as a whole.
Students who are chosen are
chosen completely upon the basis
of their service to JC and how
active they have been in extracurricular activities. While the
list is made up primarily of sophomores, freshmen are eligible.
The list will not be released
until the Rajuco comes out . in
May.

Announces Events
For Sno-Week
The Winter Social. Committee,
under the co-chairmanship of
Marilyn Richey and Phyllis Sor-
enson, have swung into action on
plans for Sno-Week, including
the theme for the dance. The
plans are as follows:
January 31—Coronation of the
Queen — Game at Austin
February 1—Sno-Dance at the
Country Club — The theme
of the Dance is "Silver Ser-
• enade"
February 3—Game at Mankato
February 5—Skating Party and
Mixer at the Merry-Go-
Round

The committee is working on
plans for taking buses to the
Austin and Mankato games. Interested students should sign up
on the bulletin board. Decorations for the dance are being
planned, but will be kept secret.

Coronation of Queen
To Open Festivities
This year the coronation convocation is going to be new and
exciting. In previous years the students have known a few days before her coronation who their Sno Queen is, but this year the coronation committee has come up with a different procedure for the
coronation. It is the hope of the committee that this new procedure
will draw more students to the convocation.
The queen's identity will be
coronation. The three finalists wi
representatives from the clubs who
three girls will be 'lined up on
the front part of the stage and
Roger Garmers will then open the
envelope containing the" name of
the queen. He will then put a
beautiful blue and gold1 velveteen robe on the girl who is
queen. Mr. Singley will then
crown the queen and Roger Garmers will escort her to her throne.
The other two finalists will be
the queen's attendants. Flowers
will be presented to the queen
and her attendants by the representatives from the club who
nominated each girl.
Following this ceremony the
basketball team members will be
introduced and a pep fest will
close the program.
The entire convocation is under
the 'leadership of Delores Techau.
Business Men
To Visit School
The faculty Public Relations
Committee, under the chairmanship of Miss Matt, is making
plans for a luncheon to honor
visitors to J. C. on Education
Business Day, January 29.
On that day, formerly held
during American Education Week,
in November, the schools invite
the business men and women of
Rochester to visit the schools.
There will be a general meeting
in Central Auditorium at 9:00 in
the morning, followed by visitations of various divisions from
9:30 to 11:30.
The faculty luncheon will be

Cast Rehearses
Spring Play
The dramatics group of Junior College began rehearsals this
week for the presentation of
Bernadine, the Broadway hit, and
later a movie starring Pat Boone.
The play is a laugh-loaded, frank
comedy about a teen-age gang
and their problems.

Since it is a two-act play it
will require a large production
crew, which has not been named yet. Anyone interested should
see Mr. Wise.
The play will be presented to
the public on February 20.
Polio patients deserve a better
fate than imprisonment in iron
