Early Registration
Introduced Here
Starting with the Spring
quarterly, registration procedures
will be changed. In general, the
period for registration has been
extended over three weeks and
more responsibility has been
placed on the' students. The program will also ease the work of
the advisors and the last minute
rush.
The registration period is from
February 17 to March 7. Students
are urged to obtain their registration materials as early as
possible from the Registrar's
Office. Monday, March 10, will
be reserved for the registration
of new students and students
now on probation.
The envelopes that hold a
complete set of registration
materials and numerous copies
of the class schedule are two
new additions that have facilitated this program.

Students Elect Finalists
For Booster Cup Award
On February 21 the Junior College students voted for the recipient of the Booster Cup. As a result of the primary ejections, Fran
Washburn and Ronald Beyers were the finalists.
Each year the Booster Cup is
awarded to an outstanding student of the college. Qualifications
for this include active participation in school activities, outstanding leadership, and good character traits. It is the only honor
bestowed on a person who is
elected by the entire student
body.
The finalists have done much
to fulfill these qualifications. Fran
Washburn has been president of
his Freshman class and of Student Council, was initiated into
Gamma Rho, is a member of the

had an article in Who's Who.

Faculty Workshop
Discusses Testing
On Monday, February 17, RJC
held a workshop primarily concerned with testing and the taxonomy of educational objectives.
The general outline for the discussion included the problem of the
purpose of the tests. Four "possible reasons were given: to assign grades, to increase learning,
to place students, and to improve
teaching. The second phase of
the workshop took up the aspect
of what tests cover; knowledge,
application of knowledge, interpretation,- evaluation of knowledge, and attitudes, interests and
values.
