after a lapse of several years, in order to give recognition to
cholastic achievement of students  af  Rochester  Junior  College.
Hiscussion of this matter, according to Dean  Hill, was accepted

Junior College Gets "New Look"

Students Enjoy
Social Event
An enjoyable evening was had
by all the J.C. students who attended fhe Swim-Gym held on
January 7 from 7:30-10:00.
Groups of both boys and girls
gathered in the gym to play badminton, basketball and volleyball, while others went to the
pool fo demonstrate their acquired skills in both swimming
and diving. Others participated
in quiet water games under the
watchful eye of the life-guards,
Connie Theel and Joe Brough.
The faculty chaperones present
af this activity were Miss Endicott
and  Mr.  Singley.
Rochester Problems
Studied by McCarty
Dr. Donald McCarty of the University of Chicago spent the week
of January 12-16 in Rochester
schools, where he had been asked
to study the communication problem. Many staff members feel
that this is a serious problem and
that a good job is not done in
providing information to all personnel.
His plan was to interview some
of the staff, investigate and study
present communications and make
a written report with recommendations.
During Christmas vacation Rochester Junior College acquired a
"new look." On the south side of
the building a huge white sign has
been constructed with the words,
"Rochester Junior College" in big
black letters. In commenting on
the new sign Dean Charles Hill
said, "We have received many
favorable comments on the Rochester Junior College sign which
has recently been erected on our
campus."
On the north side of Coffman
building a sign will be made with
the words "Rochester Junior College," to cover the old "High
School" sign.
With the aid of these informational signs, Rochester Junior College should become a well-known
spot in  Rochester.
