o-Week Activities Begin
ith Queen's Convocation
Central Auditorium was the scene of the annual Rochester Junior
he Sno-Queen Convocation on the 30th of January,
fhe Convocation was the kickoff for Sno-Week activities which
hllow February 2-6. The main event taking place was, of course,
(owning of the Sno-Queen. The Queen was selected from the
Hates presented: Nancy'Kling, Rajuco and Echo staff; Judy Armit,
tarsal Club; Jane Hammond, SNEA; Charlotte Fritsch, Newman
[Dawna Hauswirst, I.R.C; Kay Giese, Phi Theta Kappa; Carol
Jill, Y.M.C.A. candidote, and fatty McGovern, Varsity Club.

Rajesters Hard at
Work on Tea House
This year's -Rochester Junior College three-act play, "Teahouse
of the August Moon," will be presented at Central School Auditorium on February 25, 1959.

Jane Hammond
Elected Queen
Jane Hammond, a Rochester
Junior College sophomore, was
elected Sno-Queen and crowned
at a coronation convocation held
in Central Auditorium on Friday,
January 30 at 12:30 p.m.
Her attendants were Judy Armit, a freshman enrolled in the
Clerical and' Business Machines
Course, and Carol Cutshall, also
a freshman, enrolled in the General Secretarial Course.
Jane is enrolled in a Pre-education course at J.C, and next
year plans to major in music at
St. Qlaf College in Northfield,
Minnesota. Jane is well-known
around J.C, for sl?e has participated in many extra-curricular activities. Last year, she belonged
to S.N.E.A., Rajesters, and Choir.
This year she is secretary of
S. N. E. A., secretary-treasurer of
Rajesters, one of the members of
the Girls' Trio, and Woman's Page
editor of the Echo.
Among her hobbies, piano
playing ranks high. She also enjoys swimming and has served as
life-saver at many of the J.C.
Swim-Gyms. Her favorite foods
are pizza and chocolate shakes.
Besides these activities, Jane
works part-time in the Junior College Registrar's office, and also
has a part-time job at Fiksdal
Florists.

"Sno Chalet" Will
Be Dance Theme
The Annual Sno Dance, which
this year will revolve around the
theme "Sno Chalet," will be held
on Friday, February '6, at the
Rochester Golf and Country Club.
A definition of chalet, for students who were wondering, is a
Swiss cottage or hut. The decorations, which will be carried out
along the 'lines of this theme, are
being planned .by the Student
Council With the assistance of the
Social Committee.
Included in the night's entertainment is dancing to a. well-
known band which has not been
announced and a special surprise
program. The newly chosen Sno
Queen and her two attendants
will also be introduced. Refreshments will be served.
