Library through its hospital service will help to make your
stay at the hospital as happy as possible.
While it is obviously absurd to even hint that reading the right
kinds of books will cure people, it is true that if the patient's mind can
be kept from dwelling on his own sufferings, he will improve more rapidly.
Books are but one of the agents used in the modern hospital to occupy,
without taxing, the mind, but they arc one of the most important, for
nearly everyone, young or old, rich or poor, likes to read or be read to.
This library service to hospitals in St. Paul was inaugurated in 1921
and there are now ten
