From the bequest of Mr. Henry Hale two branch libraries have been
completed and opened to the public—the Hamline Branch at Minnehaha
St., near Snelling Ave., and the Merriam Park Branch on Marshall Ave.,
near Dewey Ave.
A Book Gift Drive brought as gifts to the Library more than 20,000
volumes and $783.19 in money.
The North Central Library Conference was held in St. Paul October
14-17, with an attendance of 750 librarians, from Iowa, Minnesota,
Nebraska, North and South Dakota and Wisconsin.
*This represents the adult circulation at the Central Library only. It is about one-
fourth of the total returns of the entire system on a busy day.
