The Directors of the State Normal Board, met sgreenbly to
appointment at the Capitol in St. Paul, at 12 O'clock on Tuesday the
16th August, 1859.

Dr. J. D. ford
The above named gentlemen took the oath of office before
the Clerk of the Supreme Court, which w*s filed in the office of Secretary of State.
Lieut. Gov. Holcomb *as then elected President, and Dr.
3, D. Ford, Secretary Pro-tern.
The Board then adjourned tite 20'Giock P.M.
The Board met pursuant to adjournment the same Members
being present, as before enrolled.
The following resolution -wae offered by Dr. J. D. Ford,
and passed unanimously:
Resolved, That the Judicial Districts, Bos. 3 and 5
shall constitute the first Bonsai District: Bos. 1 and 1 the r:nd Normal District: and Bos.4 and 6 the 3rd Borstal District.
A Subscription of $?,om with application for Sehool from
#inona was then presented and read.
The following Resolution was then offered by Dr. Ford and
Resolved, That the First Bormal School be located at fin-
ons, provided the subscription from Winona of f7,oo^ be satisfactorily
secured to the uses of said School as directed by the Board of Directors.
The following Resolution was then offered by Dr. Ames, and
Besolved, That the Secretary is hereby required to correspond with the Secretaries of other 3t;~te Bormal Schools and obtain at
as early a day as possible, the proceedings of said Schools; the manner
of teaching, rates and regulations, plan of building and furniture.
