The Minnesota Geological Survey, part of the Winchell School of Earth Sciences Institute of Technology, at the University of Minnesota, is the state's primary center for earth sciences information. established in 1872. The Survey conducts basic and applied geological research - chiefly through geologic mapping - conveys that information to the public through publications and service activities, and promotes earth science education. Minnesota is its exclusive focus. The Minnesota Geological Survey contribution to Minnesota Reflections consists of more than 600 images of maps published separately or as part of reports from 1872 until the present.
