Saturday July 27Aunt Sarah went back to Hudson today and Papa went to the city with her and spent the day. She staid in the city during the day and went over to Hudson on the evening train. Mr. Donaldson didn't come out this eve but stayed to hear Talmadge tomorrow. Rowed over to Crane island this eve with Mrs. Donaldson and the boys. Rob McCluskey went back to the city this aft. The air has been cool and hazy all day. Our garden was never in better condition that it has been this summer.Sunday July 28Decorated the house as usual this morning. There was quite a large attendance at church service and Mr. McCastlain [?] preached a very good sermon. Of e [?] rowed over from Spring Park and went back again after dinner. Mr. Donaldson came back from the city this afternoon. He heard Talmadge this morning and there was a great crowd. Walked up on top of Souths hill this eve and enjoyed the view. Has been cool and pleasant today with variable winds. Several sail-boats came up today.Monday July 29Worked on the church plans all day. Took in a basketful of canned fruit which didn't suit us and exchanged it for some other groceries. Ate my lunch at Regans. Stevie Hall came out with us this eve to stay several days. Caught a lot of frogs this evening and have a large quantity of angle-worms on hand. Mr. Donaldson expects to catch a big string of fish tomorrow. Has been cool and windy all day. Showery.
