Dear Peterson Family, Today a former prison writes to you, who gladly worked for you a long time, and who now is back at home. With pleasure I remember the times when I drove with your car to your big fields. I am thinking of the onions and/or the red beets, of the time when I helped to build your onion barn in Moorhead. I’ll never forget this. Thus I am longing to hear from you. How are all of you, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson, the daughters, Mr. Henry, Mr. Bob. I hope all of you are well. I can say the same about me. According to the time. Unfortunately, many things have changed a lot here at home. We only hope some day here will be better times for us again. With this hopeful thought in mind I want to close. Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year. Greetings from me and my wife. Sincerely: Ewald Schneegans Address: Ewald Schneegans Kassel Kohlenstrasse No. 29 [West Germany]
