I9 C. Um Lookwood, first being duly sworn state in substance as follows:
That I was a member of the militia company stationed at Stillwaterf Minnesota, prior to the Civil War; that this militia oomj/any was called the Stillwater Guards; that in 1861 when the First Regimentf Minnesota Volunteers was organised the Stillwater Guards became Company I of the First Kegiment; that after the Civil War the Last Alan's Club was organized from members of Company B of the First Regiment9 Minnesota Volunteers; that this Last loan's Club carried forth the military spirit of the First Kegiment in the Civil Jar until the First Kegiment, Minnesota National Guards was reorganized*
1 further state that the present Stillwater Companies of the 135th Infantry are the direct decendants of the Stillwater Guards which were a part of the First Begiment of the Minnesota Volunteers in the Civil War*
