These are the unidentified men and boys who worked for the Stevens Tug Line. Mr. Darwin E. Stevens' fleet was located at the foot of Twenty-first Avenue West in the Duluth harbor. The Joe D. Dudley tug is at the far left, the Mystic is next, and the Minni Karl is at the far right. The Cupid and the Henry T. Brower are not in this shot.

The Vine Street Cafe, Utility and Gas Service, Rosecran's Electric, the Colonial Bakery, and then Singewald's roofing were at one time located in this former residence on Vine Street, (renamed Ottawa Avenue) Savage, Minnesota. The building was torn down in 1982 for an apartment complex.
The Swenson Confectionary Shop in St. Peter was located at 204 South Minnesota Avenue. The three people shown in this interior photograph are probably the owners, Carl, Frank, and Gus Swenson.

This small building on Burns Street (renamed 124th Street) housed the Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Shop. Del Stelling worked as a newspaper reporter and photographer, covering Savage, Burnsville, Eagan and other areas of Dakota County, Minnesota from 1959 - 1984.

This Ritt family music store in St. Peter was located at 500 South Minnesota Avenue. The image shows a variety of record players and records among an assortment of posters on the walls. A poster dated February 1912 lists Edison Records. Automobile supplies and sporting goods were also sold in the store.
The original Riley Store was a wooden structure operated by Patrick and Mary Riley and was replaced by this brick building at the corner of Minnesota and Vine Streets (renamed 123rd Street and Ottawa Avenue) Savage Minnesota. After the business closed and the building was sold it was the home of the Savage Post Office and other small businesses. Most residents continued to refer to it as the Riley Store until it was torn down for the Hamilton Apartments and Business Center in 2000. Del Stelling worked as a newspaper reporter and photographer, covering Savage, Burnsville, Eagan and other areas of Dakota County, Minnesota from 1959 - 1984.
Philip Dick and his sons, Philip E. Dick and Albert Dick, operated this clothing store at 304 South Minnesota Avenue in St. Peter, Minnesota, for many years.
The sculpted details are at the entrance of the Palladio building in downtown Duluth at the corner of Fourth Avenue West and Superior Street. Northwestern Fuel sold coal, coke, and wood from their office at 403 West Superior Street. The 1889 Palladio Building architect was Henry Raeder of Raeder, Coffin and Crocker.

Miller Music Company at 8 West First Street was the business of brothers Abe H. and Ben B. Miller. The store moved to 32 East Superior Street. Abe Miller was a violinist and the manager of the Duluth Symphony for 37 years beginning in 1932. Ben was an assistant manager of Northern Drug prior to launching the music store in 1922. The song "Yes We Have No Bananas" was popular in 1923.

Jet Plaza, Burnsville's first shopping center opened in 1963 and was located on County Road 5 and Burnsville Parkway, Burnsville, Minnesota. Unique to the center was the all gas plant, which supplied both electricity and heat to the entire center. The center, which had been renamed Valley Ridge was torn down in 2011.
