Handwritten in black ink along the top edge of the image is "See Here Air.Plane Look.Out" with an arrow pointing to a building on the street. The card is used and is addressed to Commander Leo A. Peoples Theater stood on Main Street, Crosby, Minnesota. The theater signs advertise "Shufflin' Sam Adams" and Colleen Moore. Above the theater was the office of Dr. A.C. Bosel, Dentist. To the right of the theater is Walt's Barber Shop and to the left is Powder Puff Beauty Salon and Hartman's Cash and Carry.

Main Street in Crosby, Minnesota, had not been paved at the time of this photograph. The businesses are a hardware store and meat market, The Crosby Crucible newspaper, Will S. Pitt Real Estate and First State Bank of Crosby. The back of the postcard has a message to Mrs. Joe Hester of Crosby, Minnesota. It is postmarked Park Rapids, Minnesota, stamped with a 2 cent stamp and a Christmas Seal.

The Will S. Pitt Building was built on Main Street in Crosby, Minnesota, in 1914. Here it houses the Crosby Crucible newspaper, Will S. Pitt Real Estate, and the First State Bank.
Four of these buildings remain today, looking much as they did in this picture. The building at the south end is under construction. It was the creamery. Today it is being renovated to be used as a brewery.
Snow drifts block the entrance to the Spalding Hotel, Main Street, Crosby, Minnesota. A fire escape services the second and third floor. A horse approaches on the side street.
This two-story brick building was built in 1917. Then the street-level corner of the building was occupied by the Farmers State Bank. Later, the Pine River State Bank conducted business in the same space until 1974. Among original occupants was a pharmacy on Barclay Avenue, and a furniture store and funeral parlor on the First Street side. The second floor contained professional offices and apartments. The Gardiner family has operated businesses at this location since 1935. The original back addition to the building was destroyed by fire in 1973.
The cornerstone of the Spurrier Hotel was laid on August 29, 1917, and the structure which was located on the north corner of Front Street and Barclay Avenue. It opened for business and was dedicated on April 27, 1918. The cost of the hotel was $30,000.
Main Street in Trosky, dirt, with four street lights down the middle. Several cars backed in to parking spots, and a few businesses visible on the right side, including Arends Blacksmith Shop and the Trosky Bar.

Northern Cement Drain Tile Company of Starbuck made concrete blocks for residential, commercial, farm, silo and decorative use. It opened in 1916 with Charles Turnell, president, manager and engineer; and Gust W. Peterson and George H. Snyder. Emil and Victor Larson later purchased the company. Earl Larson and sons, Darryl and Roger Larson, also operated the company. The block factory ceased production in 1985.
City of Lakefield's City Hall and Powerhouse building in 1916. Also visible is the water tower built in 1915-1916, the town hall built in 1894, the light and water plant built built circa 1900 and the city jail built circa 1902.
The pillars of the entrance to the First National Bank at 225 South Minnesota Avenue in St. Peter dominate much of the right half of this image. Horse-drawn wagons can be seen along a row of hitching posts at the edge of the sidewalk.
The Bijou Theater stood on Main Street, Crosby, Minnesota. Doctors Sewall and Bosel had their offices on the second floor. Two men lounge in front of the building, while another enters the theater's side door.

Buildings only go a couple of blocks west of Main Street. The railroad is present and land is farmed right up to Lake Hendricks. Today houses are present up to the lake.
Several people are on main street, the train and the circus are in town with large tents set up. Many of the business men lived with their families above their stores. Some of these families got to the second floor by outside steps.
The Spalding Hotel sits on Main Street, Crosby, Minnesota. Another building is under construction. A lone automobile drives down Main Street past a large pothole.
