The Freshman girls are not all there and also some of the boys went away and did not know we were going to have a picture taken. The day was quite dark, and pretty cold to [sic], because a lot of them have got overcoats on."

We, as the senior [sic] class, wore caps and gowns for the first time that day and carried our class flower, the golden chrysanthanum [sic], Outside of the Congregational Church I think it was, after the inaugural ceremonies, we formed a double line on each side of the walk and crossed our long stemmed flowers over Dr. Cowling's head as he walked from the church."
