The Lakeview Hasty Tasty and a second building at the boat landing in Excelsior advertise Coca Cola and 7 Up, 10 cent hamburgers, Coney Islands, pop or ice cream for a nickel, and cracker jack, plus bathing and picnic grounds, soft drinks and beer. The steam boat Minnetonka is docked at the landing, postmarked 1957.
Erastus Church with a vegetable wagon and a white horse. Erastus Church was a colorful Worthington character who peddled vegetables, picked up junk and distinguished himself by having a street named in his honor, because he lived on that street. The photograph is dated September 26, 1900. Poster in the window promotes the candidacy of William McKinley over William Jennings Bryan. It proclaims: "McKinley was right in 1896." Note: This information taken from a newspaper article with same picture, in the Worthington Centennial July 22, 1972. We think it is a Buchan photo but don't know for sure.

After the conclusion of improvements to the St. Paul harbor and Upper Mississippi River in St. Paul, photographs were taken to document the changes. This photograph shows the improved embankment below the Robert Street Bridge, adjacent to the landing. The Farwell, Ozmun, and Kirk building and the new U.S. Post Office sit above the embankment.
The embankment below Phalen Creek was photographed as a part of work to improve the St. Paul harbor, Upper Mississippi River, and other bodies of water in and around the city of St. Paul. Work was completed in 1936.

Edna Oleson and her mother, Martha Oleson, may be wearing mourning clothes, as Edna's sister Martha Anderson had died in Ely on November 29, 1893. Martha's funeral took place in Weaver on December 3.

Streetcar 78 was built for Duluth in 1892 by the Laclede Car Company of St. Louis. It survives today in the collection of the Minnesota Streetcar Museum and operates at its streetcar line in Excelsior.

The offices of Duluth Superior Transit Company were located on Superior Street at 27th Avenue West, next to the former streetcar house, converted to bus operations after 1939.

Duluth Missabe and Iron Range Railway was formed by the merger of the Duluth and Iron Range Railway (D&IR) and Duluth, Missabe and Northern Railway (DM&N) in 1938. It was a railroad operating in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin to haul iron ore and later taconite to the Great Lakes port of Duluth, Minnesota, and Two Harbors, Minnesota. DM&IR train is shown leaving Proctor, Minnesota.
