This image shows a World War One era United States War Savings Certificate Stamp. Nicollet County Chairman J. A. Poetz is shown in the center. The purchase price varied from month to month in 1918 as shown. The certificate matured in 1923.
This building looks exactly the same today as it did when built back in the 1930s. On the interior there are murals of miners and wildlife painted during the Great Depression through the New Deal art projects by Minnesota artist Elsa Jemne.
This building once housed exhibits of the human and natural drama of the Superior National Forest and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Later, after the United States Forest Service moved to other quarters, the building became the International Wolf Center.
Permanent Tariff Commission, appointed by President Taft, sits waiting, while Uncle Sam advises the Congress to turn over tariff work to the Commission. The Commission is portrayed as a young woman with a valise labeled "Recommended by Pres. Taft, White House," while Congress is portrayed as an older matron.

Julius and Jack Bankman grew up in Virginia, Minnesota. They both served in the Army during the World War II. More than 3000 Jewish men and women served in the military during that war.

The twelfth annual report of the Board of Park Commissioners consists of an address by the board president concerning the board's jurisdiction, along with narrative reports from the superintendent and secretary concerning park maintenance and activities during 1902, including a brief update on the developing zoological collection, plantings, inventories, and monthly financial statements, presented with photographs of Como Park, Indian Mounds Park, and an award given to the board by the Paris World's Exposition.

These sketches supplement the International Boundary Commission's report to survey and delineate the border between the United States and Canada. The Commission's efforts were concentrated on the traditional voyageurs highway, which now divides the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area and Quetico Provincial Park.
A group of local activists gathered in Minneapolis to plant a tree "in tribute to Soviet Refusniks," the term applied in the West to Russian Jews who were refused the right to immigrate by the Soviet government.

A notification form that indicates that a Civil War pension claimant must include their name, number of regiment, and state they belong to, when corresponding about their claim.
The New Brighton Town Hall was built in 1898. Although planned as early as 1891, it took seven years to finish the project. It held the police department, government offices, and social events which were held in the upstairs auditorium. It was razed in the mid-1950s.
The view of the New Brighton Town Hall contrasts in size with the small shoemaker shop to its south. To the north is the Treat Building and a portion of the Marston Block. On the top of the hall was a flag pole which was on top of the large bell steeple on the left of the building. The bell was rung whenever there was a a fire. The fire engine was housed on the main floor of the building. The bell would also ring at nine o'clock when all the children had to be off the street.

The thirteenth annual report of the Board of Park Commissioners contains an address from the board president detailing the history of several major parks, with proposals for future development, a report from the superintendent describing financial struggles that decreased productivity during 1903, and the board secretary's report. Inventories, details on plantings and grass cutting, blacksmith earnings, and monthly financial statements are included.
The third annual report of the Board of Park Commissioners for the year March 1, 1889, to February 28, 1890, consists of brief updates on the structure of the board itself, the assessment, survey, and development of public parks, the issuing of bonds, and a financial statement.
Published on July 14, 1913, this cartoon shows the Underwood Simmons Tariff Bill being pushed onto the U. S. Senate stage by Senator Simmons, while the audience pellets the bill with eggs and vegetables labeled "Antagonist," "Criticism," and so on. Sen. Simmons, Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, had arranged for the controversial bill to be introduced to the Senate for debate on July 14.

Theodore Roosevelt gives a speech from the back of a train during a whistle stop in Faribault. The Rock Island train depot station is partly visible on the left side. Writing on the back of the photo reads: "Ted Roosevelt's train at the Rock Island depot. Many of the deaf stood here." It is known that Theodore Roosevelt ran for President again in 1912 and made a whistle stop in nearby Northfield, so this photo may be from the same year.
