Old Le Roy was platted on Section 28, but when the railroad was constructed one mile southeast, the settlers decided to move the town and businesses to have the advantages of the railroad at their backdoor. Le Roy was platted in 1867 on Section 34. County Roads 8, 12 and 53, along with State Highway 56 provide routes of transportation in Le Roy and the township sections. Le Roy School District 5 is located in Section 34. St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Le Roy (City) Cemetery and Le Roy Lutheran Cemetery all rest near each other in the center of Section 28.
