St. Paul's College in St. Paul Park, organized in 1889 offered both a preparatory and collegiate course. St. Paul's was organized and supported by the Northern German Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. This conference included German Methodist congregation in Minnesota plus some in Wisconsin and North Dakota. The school operated until 1917, closing under financial difficulties and the stress of being a German-speaking institution during World War I. Supporters were encouraged to shift allegiance to Hamline University.

The hotel was located at 215 South Main Street (now First Avenue SW). Over the years the name of the hotel changed several times: 1884 Commercial House, 1893 Grand Union Hotel, 1895 Rochester Hotel,1920 Olmsted Hospital, 1922 Rochester Hotel, 1923 Rochester's Nurses Home, 1928 Maxwell House (Hall) and 1968 Maxwell Guest House.
Rochester City Hall is situated on the corner of the intersection of First Avenue Southwest and Third Street Southwest. City Hall was built in 1884 and was razed in 1931 to make room for a new city hall. To the right is the Electric Light Plant, built in 1894 and burned in 1915.

Portrait of Alice Eddy Edwards, wife of the Reverend Elijah Evan Edwards and sister of the Reverend Thomas M. Eddy. Elijah E. Edwards was chaplain of the 7th Minnesota Volunteer Infantry during the latter part of the Civil War. Alice died in 1896.

The east side of the sanctuary of Plymouth Congregational Church, Minneapolis, Minnesota, is decorated for a wedding. The fourth Plymouth Congregational Church building is located on Groveland Avenue between Nicollet and LaSalle Avenues in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The decision to follow its membership and move further south on Nicollet Avenue was inevitable but controversial. The building committee, led by Joseph Kingman, selected the Boston architectural firm Shepley, Rutan, and Coolidge. The style is English Rural Gothic inspired by the Congregational Church of Newton Centre, Massachusetts. The exterior is constructed of seam-faced granite from a quarry in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The interior features wooden trusses and oak paneling.

The alter is highly decorative, it is carved wood with arches, columns, finials, and other detail work. Seen within the alter are statues of Jesus with his exposed heart, Jesus on the cross flanked by Mary and Joseph praying, Mary and Joseph as Queen and King, kneeling figures, and a scene of the last supper. Written on the backside of the image is "Main alter St. Peter + Paul Church/Belle Plaine, Mn."
Albumen print of the Jacob Ries family. The image was taken outside the Ries home in Shakopee. Seen are the family members gathered together in front of the home's main entrance. Ries founded Jacob Ries Bottling Works, Inc. at Shakopee in 1872. In 1880, Ries tapped a spring that he named "Rock Spring" and he began bottling water and other beverages under the name "Rock Spring Beverages." He passed away in 1911 and his descendents continued to operate the bottling works. Eventually the family sold their "secret recipe" to the Pepsi Company.
