Ashippun Post Office was the first in Watonwan County. It was built in 1857 and was located on Watonwan River's south branch in Rosedale Township. In 1925 it was moved to the City Park in Madelia by the local chapter of the D.A.R.
Amo Township stores started in 1896 with a creamery, a blackshop, a store attached to a home which was shipped out from the cities and hauled out from Windom, and a post office.
Nicollet Avenue is unpaved; buildings may include the G. F. Warner building on far right with mansard roof, and the Grand Opera House in center of block; on verso of card is written in pencil, BRK-484.

The Alfalfa Arch was constructed across Atlantic Avenue in honor of the Corn and Alfalfa Exposition held in Morris on December 10-12, 1913. The Expo was dedicated to the promotion of corn and alfalfa growing as well as the general virtues of diversified farming.
