Until 1914, the Union Station occupy the south side of Hennepin Avenue next to the Mississippi River. It was replaced by the new Great Northern station across the street. Two streetcars pass on Hennepin Avenue.
Back when having streetcars was the sign of a progressive town, towns without them were embarrassed. It was not uncommon to insert a fake streetcar into a street scene. In this case, the car is really from the Twin Cities.
Two of Twin City Rapid Transit's express boats (Harriet and Minnehaha) meet at the Wildhurst Dock to connect passengers with a streetcar to Minneapolis.
