This is the home of George Dryer, who lived at the intersection of Third and Walnut Streets in St. Peter. Dryer was the steward at the St. Peter State Hospital. The 1880 census lists Dryer, his wife, Anna, and their children, Mary Emma, Anna, and Horatio. George is on the porch and Mary is in the carriage.

This drawing shows the city of St. Peter as it appeared in 1870. It provides the only known images of some of the structures that are featured, one of which is the First Lutheran Church, which is listed as the Swedish Church on the drawing. Also shown is the bridge over the Minnesota River at Broadway, which could be turned to allow the passage of riverboats.

It was leased by Edward Neill for $1,200 per year to house the Baldwin School, the preparatory school Neill founded. Owner Charles Macalester, namesake of Macalester College, deeded the building to school Trustees.

House located in Lakefield on 701 Douglas Street. Original builder was a Mr. A. N.. Douglass; who's daughter had tuberculosis and it was built to aid in the cure. Built in 1893 with maximum number of window for sunshine and fresh air, it contains 57 windows.
A Chisago County library that maintains its independence as an unaffiliated library is the Taylors Falls Public Library, housed in this building since 1887.

For some time, McGregor Public Library was located in the community room, which had been two cells of the former jail. Prior to joining East Central Regional Library, other library spaces in McGregor were the corner of O.L Johnson's telephone office, the back room of Paul Huff's barber shop, the school, and the General Minnesota utilities building. The concrete building had been renovated, but the jail cells and the window bars were still intact, and heating was problematic. This 2,400 square foot building on Main Street in Lindstrom served the Chisago Lakes community as a library from 1973 to 2005 when a larger library was built in Chisago Lakes Township. When the library moved out, the building became the new home for the Chisago Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. Founded in 1959, ECRL is the oldest existing regional public library system in Minnesota. Ashippun Post Office was the first in Watonwan County. It was built in 1857 and was located on Watonwan River's south branch in Rosedale Township. In 1925 it was moved to the City Park in Madelia by the local chapter of the D.A.R.
The Aitkin Public Library, built in 1911, is the only East Central Regional Library branch to have received funds from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation.
