Founded in 1885, the Minneapolis Public Library grew to include a Central Library and fourteen branches. In 2008 the library was merged into the Hennepin County Library system.

The Webber Park branch of the Minneapolis Public Library was formerly known (from 1910 to 1954) as the Camden Park branch. Renamed in 1954, it was housed in the Webber Park fieldhouse at 4380 Webber Parkway, until the building was razed in 1979.

Parking lot in front of Alfred Parkers home on West Broadway. The son of a Methodist Clergyman, Alfred Parker was born in Maine in 1824. He served in the Mexican War and went to the California gold fields in the rush of 1849. In the early 1850s he came back east by rail and then up the Mississippi by steamboat to St. Paul. In 1854, Parker homesteaded a farm near what is now 42nd and Perry. In 1855 Parker married his neighbor's daughter, Elizabeth Malbon. Her father built the couple a fine house at 4109 Lakeland. A couple years later he built another house on an adjoining lot. The Parker house was used as a stopover by travelers and teamsters hauling on the Bottineau Road. Both houses, in the heart of the business district, were torn down in the 1970s.

This photograph shows the original home of Captain William B. Dodd in St. Peter. Dodd, who founded St. Peter, was killed in New Ulm in 1862 while helping to defend the city against attacks by the Dakota Indians.

This house at 402 South Fourth Street in St. Peter, Minnesota, was originally owned by William Schimmel, a local businessman who also served as the president of the First National Bank from 1871 to 1889.

It was leased by Edward Neill for $1,200 per year to house the Baldwin School, the preparatory school Neill founded. Owner Charles Macalester, namesake of Macalester College, deeded the building to school Trustees.

The Fillebrown House located at 4753 Lake Avenue, formerly 303 Lake Avenue. The property is on the National Register of Historic Places and is also known as the Red Chalet and the C. P. Noyes Cottage.
An exterior view showing the front of the Women's Christian Temperance Union Temple (W. C. T. U.), a two-story Lecture Hall for temperance and other timely topics. On August 25, 1889, the building was bought at a sheriff's sale and was used for traveling shows, school activities, and funerals.

This was once the home of the Zachris Peter Hedberg family in St. Peter. The house is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Fourth and Walnut Streets, facing Fourth Street. Zachris is sitting in a chair on the lawn, below his wife, Johanna, and his daughter, Hilda. Son Harry is in the corner tower, and Johanna's parents, Fajer and Hanna Knutson, are sitting on a bench on the lawn.
